1. Annual savings are dependent on your property type and location, roof type, slope, and size. If your roof is shaded or isn't south facing, figures are likely to be lower. We based the figure on the following:
a) 12 (440W) solar panels and a 5.2 kWh battery system
b) Annual electricity consumption of 2,700 kWh (Ofgem medium user). You pay OVO’s Standard Variable Rate of 27.69p and a daily standing charge of 54.75p (correct at 1 January 2026) and use 51% of what you generate
c) You sign up for our exclusive SEG rate (20p kWh), and you sell back 49% of the energy generated

2. For eligible customers, the Boiler Upgrade Scheme offers a grant of up to £7,500 to help with installation costs. It covers installations in England and Wales that take place before the end of March 2028. Homeowners in Scotland can apply for a grant of up to £7,500 through the Home Energy Scotland Grant and Loan Scheme. An additional £7,500 of funding is also available as an optional interest free loan through Home Energy Scotland. Terms and eligibility criteria apply.
