Making the jump from a traditional gas boiler to an air source heat pump is a big decision. At OVO, we want to make that transition as smooth, and as warm, as possible.
That's why we've introduced our Weekend Warmer offer: free heating every weekend for a whole year, every Saturday and Sunday, on us. Based on typical household usage, that's around £182 back over the year¹.
Weekend Warmer is an offer for customers who upgrade their home heating system to an air source heat pump. We'll credit your account every month for an entire year, essentially picking up the tab for your weekend comfort.
What is Weekend Warmer?
Weekend Warmer is an offer for customers who upgrade their home heating system to an air source heat pump. To help with that, we’ve worked out the average cost of running a heat pump for both space heating and hot water for an average home over a typical weekend¹. We’ll then credit that back to your account, every month for an entire year. Essentially, we are picking up the tab for your weekend comfort.
How the offer works: From quote to comfort
We’ve kept the process as easy as possible so you can focus on enjoying your home. Here is how the journey looks:
1. Get a new heat pump quote with OVO
To be eligible, you must receive a new quotation for an air source heat pump from one of our expert OVO Solar & Heating teams between 16 March and 30 September 2026.
2. Professional installation
Once you accept the quote, your new system will be installed by our team.
3. The redemption email
After the installation is complete, keep an eye on your inbox. We’ll send you an email with instructions on how to activate your Weekend Warmer offer.
4. Monthly savings
Once you’ve signed up, we handle the rest. The savings are applied directly to your energy account as a credit every month for 12 months.
Eligibility: Is your home ready?
This offer is available to homeowners aged 18 and over in England, Scotland, and Wales. To redeem this offer, you need to be an OVO dual-fuel or electricity-only customer.
This offer is for new installations and new quotes only. If you already had a quote for your address before the offer period began, it won’t be eligible. This offer isn’t available for commercial properties.
Timing is everything
If you’ve been thinking about upgrading your heating, now's the perfect time to get your quote. Weekend Warmer is available for heat pump orders quoted between 16 March and 30 September 2026.
Once your installation is finished and you get your redemption email, you have 60 days to sign up and claim your year of free weekend heating.
Please note, the value of this offer depends on when you received your quote. If you were quoted before 16 July 2026, your Weekend Warmer credit is based on £4.48 per weekend (up to £232.96 over the year). If you're quoted from 16 July 2026 onwards, your credit is based on £3.50 per weekend (up to £182 over the year). Whichever applies to you, we'll confirm the exact rate in your redemption email.

¹A weekend of free heating is calculated at £3.50. With a month's worth being calculated at £15.17 for the first 11 months and £15.13 for the final month, for a maximum credit of £182.00 for the entire year.
This is based on a gas boiler running at 90% efficiency (as per the national average for A-rated boilers) with an annual gas consumption of 9,500 kWh (Ofgem medium gas TDCV, correct at 1 July 2026). Assuming an air source heat pump with a Seasonal Coefficient of Performance (or efficiency rating) of 3.5 will use 2,443 kWh of electricity annually for heating (both space heating and hot water) at 26.11p/kWh (OVO's Standard Variable Rate, correct at 1 July 2026).
